General Game Structure

  • Players: Ideally played deep with 2 to 9 players (8 players recommended).
  • Betting: No pot limit; bet up to your entire stack. Minimum raise is whole units.
  • Blinds: Recommended format is equal minimum contribution for all players.
  • Hole Cards: Each player receives 5 private cards.
  • Community Cards: Deal 3 on Flop, 2 on Turn, 1 on River (11 total cards available).
  • Betting Order: Done in the exact same order each betting round for the hand.
  • Hand Selection: 8 cards of 11 are selected for a hand. 3 cards are discarded to form the best possible 8-card hand.

Scoring & Tie-Breakers

  • Total Score: Calculated (0 to 13) by taking the best item from each of the 4 Categories (Pairs/Trips, Quads/Flush, Straight, Whole/Divided). Maximum 1 item counted per category.
  • Card Values: A=(1,14), K=13, Q=12, J=11, T=10.
  • Straight Definitions:
    • Straight = all 8 cards connected.
    • Divided straight = all 8 cards in each of the 2 parts connected.
    • '2' can be given rank 15 for whole straight (3-8 kinds) or part-straight of 3 kinds.
    • '3' can be given rank 16 for whole straight of 4 kinds.
  • Tie-breaker: If hands tie on points, lowest cards are compared (higher rank is better). If all cards match, pot is shared.

Suit Mapping & Notes

  • Note that "color" always refers to one of the 4 suits:
    • Spades: Black
    • Hearts: Red
    • Clubs: Green
    • Diamonds: Blue
  • Works well for stack sizes 30x to 100,000x the initial pot.
